The FAO regional training workshop “Design and Evaluation of Mycotoxin Sampling Protocols” was successfully completed in Oakwood Premier Hotel, Joy-Nostalg Center Manila, Philippines 11-12 September 2014 with generous support by Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), Department of Agriculture, Phiippines .
The main objective of the training workshop was to enhance capacity of users of Mycotoxin Sampling tool whichhad been developed by FAO recently. The expected outputs of the training workshop were:
1)Enhanced knowledge of sampling and testing in modern food control
2)Enhanced knowledge of mycotoxins sampling in food commodities
3)Understanding of the FAO mycotoxin sampling tool and capacity developed to use the same
The training workshop methodology was consist of lectures, practice on using the tool including hands-on training using practical examples.
The training was attended by twenty participants from ASEAN country (two participants from each ten ASEAN countries), resource persons and staff of FAORAP. Besides the participants mentioned above, two observers from Japan, one observer from India and twelve observers from Philippines attended at the training workshop.
